ʻAha Lōkahi ʻOhana & CommUNITY Engagement Conference 2024 Recap + Highlights
About ʻAha Lōkahi
September 12 - 14, 2024| Koʻolau Ballroom in Kāneʻohe
The Hawaiʻi Afterschool Alliance (HAA) and the Hawaiʻi Statewide Family Engagement Center present the ʻAha Lōkahi: ʻOhana & CommUNITY Engagement Conference. This year’s theme is Ola i ka wai - There is life in the waters. The theme’s deeper meaning is about the relationships that hold true to sustain life. Water is foundational, reciprocal, energizing, and life-giving. When we take care of water, it, in turn, gives us life. Similarly, afterschool, summer programs and community schools must understand and live out reciprocal pilina for our keiki and ʻohana to thrive.
At this conference, participants will engage in an abundance of learning and networking opportunities designed to increase their knowledge of afterschool, summer programs, family engagement, and community schools. Attendees will sharpen their skillsets to plan and design programs, implement effective strategies to support children, youth and families, strengthen family-school-community partnerships, and much more. We will also celebrate 10 years of HAA leading, convening, and advocating for the out-of-school time field at ʻAha Lōkahi. As we reflect on our wins over the past decade, we invite you to join our conference to learn, connect, and dream big for the next 10 years! |
