A community school is a place where school staff, families, students, and the community work together to help every child thrive.
They support the whole child—addressing academics, health, well-being, belonging, cultural identity, and connection to ʻāina. Students and families are not just supported, they are partners and leaders. These relationships are built on reciprocity —helping share ideas, lead projects, and create solutions together. Each community school reflects and is a part of its unique community. Addressing the needs, values, and strengths of its people through the empowerment of the community. In Hawaiʻi, community schools reflect who we are, how we live, and what we aspire to become. Impact GoalsCommunity schools in Hawaiʻi are here to ensure students, families, and communities thrive.
